Shopping centre has bright future
Ústí nad Labem’s largest shopping centre - OC Fórum – has a brighter look and it’s all down to the latest lighting technologies, which are making the venue more productive, attractive and energy-efficient.
A wide selection of luminaires, from sophisticated wall washers to basic battens, light the 27,000 m² city centre mall, which has more than 100 shops, restaurants, cafés and a multiplex cinema.
Outside, specialist floodlights (Qba) and wall mounted cyclindral-shaped up/down spotlights (Cesar) combine to dramatically highlight the façade, while post-top urban lanterns (Legend) create a feeling of comfort and security for the 640 car parking spaces. Inside, this feeling is reflected by rows of slim linear fluorescent fixtures (Arrowslim), an arrangement which also speaks of direction, leading the eye and footstep into the mall.
The correct choice of optic and light source is equally as important as aesthetic appearance and layout, and the shopping centre employs a host of T16 fluorescents (AquaForce II, Jupiter II and Tefem) to bring long-term performance, good colour rendering and energy efficiency. The total effect is further enhanced by the inconspicuous, but highly efficient downlighting (Cruz) which extends an air of space, grace and elegance to the interior.
